Bad haircuts.
I had been living in Vermont for a year and hadn't found a great hair salon but I found it at Bimini Bill's in Middlebury. On my first visit, I was paired with Amanda and I received the best haircut I have ever received. I saw her several more times and each time I was delighted with the cut. I have never received so many compliments on my hair cut, including from complete strangers. The salon atmosphere is nice and there are plenty of Aveda products to choose from. I had a great experience every time.
My friend and I wanted to get our nails done before a wedding in Middlebury... the pedicure was satisfactory but my manicure was terrible. My 8 year old daughter could have done a better job. I've been to many nail salons in Vermont and can confidently say that this is the worst professional manicure I have ever gotten.
This place has reasonable prices, friendly conversation, and ended up with a great haircut and beard trim!
I've now had three haircuts at Bimini Bills over the past eight or so months. The first, with a stylist who I believe no longer works there, was excellent. I got another haircut from a different stylist, which was passable, not bad but certainly not worth the premium over Supercuts etc. I recently got a third haircut, a fine haircut but completely different from what I wanted. The stylist gave no advice and asked no questions beyond a brief 'how do you want it done?' and cut much more hair that I had asked (so much for measure twice, cut once). He stylist was also impersonable, making only the meagerest attempt at conversation (even about my hair). I now have two months of a bad haircut to look forward to- and I will most definitely not be returning to Bimini Bills.
